    a45 Steepness (roughness parameter plug-in)

    		This roughness parameter gives the percentage of the surface which is inclined by 45 degrees or more with respect to horizontal. Additionally the surface area ratio calculated by dividing the surface into micro triangles is provided (slightly different from Sdr as defined in ISO and ASME standards).

    		Images of parallel line structures can be difficult to analyze due to thermal drift, creep or inaccurate sample alignment. This software tool provides methods for aligning the individual scan lines in an (SPM) image in the X direction, assuming that they are nominally identical profiles.

    Tip Shape Generator

    		It can be usefully applied in coordination with the tip characterizer, before tip shape deconvolution.
    Parabolic, Hyperbolic and hemispheric shape have been preferred, in agreement with ASTM guidelines (E 1813 - 96). Dimensions, resolutions flank angles and apex curvatures can be set by the operator.

    Image and Profile Modification
    Controlled Profile Zoom

    		This software tool realizes a controlled zoom on a given profile and is recommended whenever precise zoom of a given profile is needed. The profile is cropped by a user specified percentage from the left end, and and like wise from the right end. The percentages (of the original profile length) can be defined separately for the left and the right end.

    Image Stitching (Mosaics)

    		This plug-in solution carries out surface topography stitching where best matching positions are detected through maximization of a cross-correlation function. The stitching principle is based on the adoption of an overlapping area between two consecutive scans to be merged into a single data file. Best matching relative position of the two images is found within the overlapping region. Matching allows compensating the positioning errors from the stage.

    Line Edge Profile Extractor

    		This plug-in can extract the left and right line-edge profiles from a topographic image of a line structure parallel to the Y axis in and image.

    The plug-in will trace all scan lines in the image form the left and the right side, respectively, until height values of neighbouring pixels crosses the threshold value given in the dialog. Interpolation ensures the generation of an accurate line edge profile.

    Posterize

    		The present software tool provides the so called posterizing effect. Surface topography is therefore
    segmented in a user defined number of levels. Steps have a constant vertical range. The minimum and maximum height can be set by the operator or automatically detected.

    Image Calculation
    Roughness (Sa) thresholding

    		This plug-in generates a map of the local roughness (Sa) of an image and further produces a binary image by thresholding the roughness image at a userdefined level. The roughness map is generated by calculating the local Sa roughness inside a window with size defined by the user.
