SPIP™ - Analytical Software for Microscopy
SPIP™ (Scanning Probe Image Processor) was for many years one of the world’s most advanced microscope image analysis software packages for processing and analyzing images at the nano- and microscale.
Originally developed by Image Metrology, SPIP™ earned a reputation as a powerful, user-friendly toolkit for researchers in both academia and industry — providing robust tools for data extraction, image enhancement, measurement analysis, visualization and reporting.
SPIP™ supported data from most major microscopy file formats, including SPM (AFM, STM, SNOM), electron microscopes (SEM, TEM), optical and confocal microscopes, interference microscopes, and surface profilers. Its capabilities made it a standard reference in the scientific community, cited in more than 1,200 peer-reviewed publications.
From SPIP™ to MountainsSPIP®
As of January 2020, SPIP™ is no longer developed or marketed. All SPIP™ functionality — and much more — has been integrated into MountainsSPIP®, the next generation of SPM (image) analysis software, developed and marketed by Digital Surf.
Built on Digital Surf’s industry-standard Mountains® platform, MountainsSPIP® combines SPIP’s interactive tools with advanced 3D visualization, enhanced data analysis and compatibility with the latest microscope technologies.
Researchers and engineers in fields such as semiconductors, materials science, pharmaceuticals, polymers, and nanotechnology are encouraged to transition to MountainsSPIP® to access the latest innovations and ongoing technical support.
